Feet elevated seated alternating dumbbell press ➡️
Here is another great overhead pressing alternative for those who struggle with strict overhead pressing.
If you are someone who tends to revert to an extended posture during overhead pressing (think low back very arched and ribcage flared upward) this could be an awesome variation for you.
The incline set slightly short of exactly vertical and the elevation of the feet place you in a really nice position. The ribs will be centered over the pelvis, reducing the amount of low back extension and will allow the shoulder blades to move upward is necessary in order to complete the press overhead.
Exhale as you press upward and let your shoulder blades move freely. Do not keep them pinned down!
I’ve been using this as a secondary press in a training session and have been really enjoying it. 💪
